Marketing Pitch

Marketing Intern

At the end of the summer semester, my fellow interns and I were tasked with creating a unique marketing concept that could benefit the company in any way. For my project, I decided to create a concept focused on students with dietary restrictions called “Balanced Bites”. This would be a digital solution for students to see personalized, well-balanced meal ideas that adheres to any of their dietary restrictions. For this project, we were to create a presentation that would be presented to multiple managers in different areas of the company.

This project was an invaluable learning experience and helped me develop several key skills. Firstly, I strengthened my ability to think creatively and strategically when identifying a market need. By researching and understanding the challenges students with dietary restrictions face, I was able to design a solution that was both practical and innovative. In addition, this project honed my presentation and communication skills. Crafting a clear, concise, and engaging pitch for a diverse group of managers was challenging yet rewarding.

SWOT Analysis Project

During my two-semester group project, I took on a leadership role in my section while we conducted a comprehensive SWOT analysis for a company, which was presented to the company’s head and an audience of 300 classmates. This was a project with a group of 25 fellow students where we divided the project into specific categories. My focus was on identifying the company's weaknesses, particularly their lack of a social media presence. This analysis highlighted missed opportunities for engagement and brand awareness, providing valuable insights for improvement.

Business Plan Project

For the Business Plan group project, our responsibility was to create a business plan for a product we created. I was responsible for the marketing objectives section, where I designed a custom website, crafted a comprehensive marketing plan to boost brand presence, and identified our target market. This project allowed me to apply my knowledge of digital strategies and consumer behavior, resulting in a cohesive and effective marketing approach that aimed to maximize our product's reach and impact.

Event Project

Marketing Intern

At the end of the fall semester, I was tasked with creating an event idea for the spring semester. The requirements included coming up with an idea, creating digital and physical signage, and sourcing the necessary materials. I chose to plan a “Galentine’s” Day event which included various crafts and food offerings.

Through this experience, I enhanced my organizational and project management skills, as I was responsible for coordinating multiple moving parts and meeting deadlines. I also gained hands-on experience in creative execution, designing promotional materials that effectively communicated the event’s theme and drew in students. The process of sourcing materials and managing budgets taught me the importance of being resourceful and staying within allocated costs while still delivering a high-quality experience.
